Thursday night, September 17th at 7pm — “Two Father & Son Warriors of American History” by Bill Potter
On Thursday night, September 17th, at 7:00, historian Bill Potter will bring a program on two great warriors of American history who were father and son, were both awarded the Medal of Honor, (the highest military decoration of the United States), and who exhibited many similar characteristics in their long careers of service to their country. Together, their lives spanned almost 120 years and participation in seven wars. The lives of Arthur MacArthur and Douglas MacArthur reveal the best of American bravery and leadership as well as the conflicts that inherently exist between a civilian commander in chief, overseeing his armies from Washington D.C., and the generals commanding the men at the sharp end of American foreign policy.
