Thursday, October 22, at 7:00pm, historian and collector John Failla will bring a presentation on George Washington. John has been an accomplished surveyor for forty-two years and is a collector of colonial surveys and maps. His collection contains four hundred pre-Independence surveys and deeds, including ones by George Washington. He will present Washington from an angle we have not seen before—as surveyor and later land speculator on the Virginia frontier. As a nationally known surveyor John has appeared many times as an expert witness in trials and teaches evening classes for attorneys.
