- Thursday night, at 7:00pm, November 5th — “Patrick Cleburne at the Battle of Franklin”
-

Thursday night at 7:00, November 5th, Mr. Bruce A. Stewart, Jr., the President of the Atlanta Civil War Roundtable will bring a presentation on what many believe was the best general of the Civil War, Patrick Cleburne. Cleburne, an Irish immigrant, rose to Division command during the war and commanded one of the best trained, hardest hitting Confederate units in the war. He played a key role in all the battles of The Confederate Army of the Tennessee, including the battles around Atlanta. He led his men in one last futile assault at the tragic Battle of Franklin, Tennessee in 1864. Mr. Stewart has written an excellent book on Patrick Cleburne as a tactician and will bring to us a lecture entitled “Patrick Cleburne at the Battle of Franklin.” Copies of Bruce’s book Invisible Hero: Patrick R. Cleburne will be available for sale.
