The Unwilling Immigrants - April 20th

Three important events occurred in Jamestown Virginia in 1619. One was the establishment of the House of Burgesses the first representative assembly in North America, which led to representative government and self-government in the colonies. A second event that occurred was the arrival of a ship that arrived full of maidens. This helped firmly establish Jamestown as a thriving colony. A third event that was so important was the arrival of the first Africans.  Here the story of the original Africans that landed is told. Many think that they arrived as slaves, but that is not the whole story. As a matter if fact that is not the story at all. Join us for an enlightening stroll through history that overturns prevailing myths.
