FATHER’S DAY SPECIAL $95 (originally $125)

For two harrowing days in September of 1863, 125,000 men fought for the prize of the City of Chattanooga in terrain more like a jungle than a battlefield. The firing was so heavy one soldier likened it to the “thickness of raindrops in a tempest . . .the destruction of hailstones to a growing cornfield . . .driftwood in a squall.” Intense hardship, gallantry, and fearful carnage characterized those two bloody days in the War Between the States. Military careers and reputations were made or destroyed and hope for Confederate independence was rekindled.

One of the oldest preserved battlefields in the United States, Chickamauga has long been a living map for strategic military studies and for countless stories of the pathos and heroism of American warriors in blue and gray.

Circa historian Bill Potter, military historian and lecturer, will lead a tour of this great battlefield on Saturday, June 26th. We will meet at The American History Guild at 8:30am and go together by van or bus (depending on number of sign-ups)  to the North Georgia battlefield where we will disembark to study the battle, walk where the soldiers of both sides fought and died, and marvel at the sacrifices brave men are want to make.

The cost for the one day tour is $95.00 (originally $125)  per person which will include transportation by comfort coach, a boxed lunch, refreshments and a special gift related to the Battle of Chickamauga. If you are a Circa History Guild Member discounts will apply. Reservations can be placed at Luke@CircaHistory.com or Register Online.
